This page covers the Venere classic bedroom, shown in the gallery with its bed, wardrobe, chest, console and chair, and the Francesco Pasi pieces that cover the same roles today. Use it to work out which pieces a full classic bedroom needs and how they relate.

Which pieces did the Venere bedroom include?

Venere furnished the whole room: a bed, a wardrobe, a chest of drawers, a console and a chair. The photographs below show each piece alone and the bedroom together. Colours, materials and lines were chosen so the room would serve rest and relaxation first.

What should the bed and chest look like together?

The bed sets the carving and the chest repeats it at a lower height. The Opera Bed 3066 by Francesco Pasi has a carved headboard with a central fretwork on solid wood 80 mm thick, carved by hand.

Opposite it, the Gran Guardia Chest of Drawers, 3 Drawers, at H 92 x W 123 x D 60 cm, carries hand carving and gold or silver leaf applied by hand. Other arrangements appear under elegant bedroom furniture.

Where does a dressing table desk fit?

Place it under a window or on a wall clear of the wardrobe doors. The Opera Dressing Table Desk, Carved "B" Decoration, by Francesco Pasi measures H 78 x W 158 x D 68 cm and has a 29 mm cherry blockboard top.

Because it is a desk as well as a dressing table, it can replace a separate writing table in a smaller room. For the seat, one of our classic italian dining chairs can serve the desk.
